that's the day we close. we've already started shopping, or should I say "I" have already started shopping for everything from the walls to the windows. this past weekend, I bought a level... it's an old house.the house we're purchasing is a 1928 garage, yes garage, turned into a 'bungalow' in 1943. that's how i've interpreted the loosly-held records on its origins. it has some period details and has quite a bit of potential. maple floors in the livingroom, and a fir floor of some sort in one of the bedrooms. one note is that it is quite smaller than most houses, only 1022 sq.f., the yard is an "intown lot" so maintenance will be minimal. it comes with a "well-landscaped yard", and the house is in fantastic shape both structuraly and visually. the current owner is an engineer, if that says anything. meticulous might be one way to describe it.
we're looking forward to maximizing space, using color, textures and the like to bring out its best features. We'll see how it goes. Photos and future postings will come at irregular intervals....
